A bike ride along the Murray River
The best way to see the Wonga Wetlands is by bike, a short 20-kilometre ride on a paved bike path along the Murray River from downtown Albury. The town of Albury/Wodonga (known as the twin cities) is about half way between New South Wales’ capital city of Sydney and Victoria’s capital city of Melbourne. Indeed, both towns are on the Hume highway that goes between these two capital cities. The Murray River divides the two states, and the two towns both of which are situated on its banks. Albury is in New South Wales, Wodonga is in Victoria. They have a combined population of just under 100,000 people and is a major regional centre.
